My Healing Journey:
Finding Empowered Living Through Faith, Not Fear
When I was 14, I found myself in a place most people wouldn’t expect—a Alcoholic/Narcotics Anonymous Bible study. Not because I had ever used drugs, but because I was part of an afterschool program called the Keala Foundation, which aimed to keep youth off drugs by connecting them to movement, mentorship, and awareness. I was the youngest person in the room. And while I sat quietly, what I witnessed was life-changing: people sharing stories of trauma, addiction, and the deep ache to feel free and whole again.
That experience left a permanent imprint. I realized healing wasn’t just about stopping a behavior—it was about reconnecting with the body, reclaiming a sense of safety, and breaking free from the patterns that kept people stuck. I didn’t have the language for it then, but I was being introduced to what I now call neuro resilience—the ability of the brain and nervous system to adapt, regulate, and recover.
Fast forward to college, when I received my first chiropractic adjustment, and everything fell into place. It wasn’t just an adjustment—it was a revelation. I felt something align in me physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I instantly knew: Chiropractic is the tool to help people get regulated and free from what controls them—whether that’s trauma, addiction, chronic stress, or illness. That moment taught me one of the deepest truths I’ve built my practice on:
“The power that made the body heals the body. It doesn’t need help—just no interference.”
That philosophy would guide me through my own unexpected health crisis years later. Out of nowhere, I began experiencing intense fatigue, dizziness, brain fog, hormonal chaos, and nervous system dysfunction. I was told I looked “fine,” but inside I knew something was terribly wrong. After months of searching, I discovered the root: mold toxicity. Living in a toxic environment had triggered systemic inflammation, dysautonomia, and genetic vulnerabilities I didn’t even know were there.
Healing became a full-time job. But it also became a masterclass in neuroplasticity, gene expression, and the power of personalized, integrative care. I learned how to unwind chronic stress patterns from the brain, restore cellular function, and rebuild my nervous system from the inside out. That season of illness gave me more than just answers—it gave me compassion, insight, and a blueprint for how I help others today.
That blueprint became Ho‘omana Living—a practice built on the belief that true healing happens when we empower the nervous system, unblock the body’s natural intelligence, and partner with the brain to create lasting change. “Ho‘omana” means “to empower” or “to give spiritual strength”—and that’s exactly what I strive to do for every person I work with.
Today, my work blends chiropractic care with advanced brain-based therapies like Neuro Emotional Technique, Applied Kinesiology, nutritional testing, frequency medicine, trauma release, and movement retraining. I also use tools like SCENAR neurostimulation, biofeedback, red light therapy, and homeopathic support to activate the body's healing intelligence. Every technique is used with one goal in mind: to help you restore regulation, clarity, and freedom in your brain and body.
I still feel deeply connected to the addiction recovery world. I now work alongside holistic recovery teams, supporting individuals as they rebuild their resilience—not just emotionally, but neurologically and physiologically. Whether you're healing from trauma, chronic illness, or a lifetime of nervous system overload, I want you to know: there is a path forward.
Your brain can change. Your body can recover. And you don’t have to live in survival mode.
This is my story. And it’s an invitation to begin yours—not from fear, but from faith.
